Our moms learn skills for moving forward even when they encounter obstacles and setbacks. We desire that each mom leave our program with a strong sense of resiliency and empowerment.
Our History
This project began in September of 2023 when the Capuchin Friars in Frankford learned that their rectory at the old St. Joachim’s Church was soon to be unoccupied. Given the needs of the neighborhood and the already operating Pregnancy Resource Center in the basement, Brother Alex Hostoffer had the idea to turn the rectory into a maternity home for women and children.
Annie’s Home has partnered with Zelie’s Home in Cleveland, Ohio in order to share their hard earned wisdom and extensive programming for women. Zelie’s Home has been serving pregnant and parenting women since June of 2009. We have a goal of opening our doors to serve mothers in July of 2024.
Our Name
Since this maternity home is on the property of the old St. Joachim’s Church, we decided to name it after his wife, St. Anne. As the mother of the Blessed Mother and the grandmother of Jesus, we believe St. Anne will be a powerful intercessor in helping us strengthen and empower families.
